Preparatory Visit for Cool Roof Intervention in Jaipur Settlements

As part of the Wellcome Trust-funded project on the Economic and Health Impact Assessment of Heat Adaptation Action, the project team carried out a two-day field visit on 20–21 May 2026 in Jaipur along with the Pidilite team and field implementation team. During the visit, households in low-income settlements in Jaipur were visited for the upcoming cool roof intervention. The team measured roofs, assessed roof conditions, and discussed the preparation work needed with the participating families. In the coming days, 35 selected households in the treatment group will have their roofs painted with sun-reflective paint as part of the cool roof intervention being tested to help reduce indoor heat and provide some relief from extreme heat.
