The Institute of Economic Growth organized the roundtable session “Decoding the Nexus of Health and Economics for Heat Risk Management” as part of the World Health Summit on Climate and Well-Being at IIT Delhi on 24th August 2026. The session was led by Prof. Purnamita Dasgupta, Chair Professor & Head, Environmental & Resource Economics Unit, IEG, Delhi, and Principal Investigator, and co-chaired by Prof. Rajib Dasgupta and Prof. Meeta Keswani Mehra, Co-PIs from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The session brought together experts from public health, economics, climate science, and policy to discuss the health, social, and economic impacts of heat stress and explore evidence-based approaches to heat adaptation.
